Education and competences of the bachelor in library science of UDESC: analysis following the Brazilian Classification of Occupations

Resumo: | Introduction: The technological domination has reached all areasof knowledge which Library science studies mainly the information. It has affected and changed the paradigms of professional.Objective: To verify if the course ofLibrary science of University of State of SantaCatarina(UDESC) assists to the demands of the job marketas for the training and competences of theBachelor in Library Science, following the Brazilian Classification of Occupations (CBO).Methodology: This study adopted adocumental research that included bibliographic and documentary sources. It was also analyzed the current curriculum that was established in Librarian Science graduation from UDESC in 2008. Results: The eight stagesof Library science graduation from UDESC correspond with theactivities classified to librarian by (CBO). The unique criterionin all this stagesis a personal competence. However, the activities that predominate in the Library science graduation of UDESCare: to availability information in any supports, information manages, units manage, networks andinformation systems,as well as developing study and research. Conclusions: The final conclusion revealed that the analyzed course meet requirements of labor market, academic training and competence of Bachelor of library science. |

Introducción: El dominio tecnológico, de alguna manera, alcanzo a todas las áreas del conocimiento, siendo el área de la bibliotecología, que se ocupa fundamentalmente de la información, afectada de tal manera que surgieron los cambios en los paradigmas dela profesión.Objetivo: Determinar si el curso de Bibliotecología de la universidad de Santa Catarina (UDESC) cumple con los requisitos del mercado laboral con respecto a la formación y a las competencias del bachillerato en Bibliotecología, siguiendo la Clasificación Brasileña de Ocupaciones (CBO).Metodología: Se trata de una investigación documental, que incluye fuentes bibliográficas y documentales, y se analizó el actual plan de estudios del curso de Bibliotecología de la UDESC, que se implanto en 2008.Resultados: Las ocho fases del curso de la Bibliotecología de la UDESC atienden a las actividades que la CBO clasifica para el bibliotecario. El único criterio presente en todas las etapas es la competencia personal. A más de esto, las actividades que predominan en el curso de Bibliotecología de la UDESC son: fornecer informaciones a cualquier soporte, gestionar unidades, redes y sistemas de información, y desarrollar estudios e investigaciones. Conclusiones: Las conclusiones finales revelan que el cursoanalizado atiende las exigencias del mercado de trabajo con respecto a la formación y las competencias del bachillerato en bibliotecología. Introdução: A dominação tecnológica, de certa forma, atingiu todas as áreas do conhecimento, sendo que a área da Biblioteconomia, que trata primariamente com a informação, foi afetada de tal modo que surgiram alterações nos paradigmas da profissão.Objetivo: Verificar se o curso de Biblioteconomia da Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (UDESC)atende às exigências do mercado de trabalho quanto à formação e às competências do bacharel em Biblioteconomia, seguindo a Classificação Brasileira de Ocupações (CBO).Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental, que abrange fontes bibliográficas e documentais, sendo que foi analisado o currículo vigente implantado em 2008do curso de Biblioteconomia da UDESC.Resultados: As oito fases do curso de Biblioteconomia da UDESC atendem às atividades que a CBO classifica para o bibliotecário. O único critério presente em todas as fases é a competência pessoal.
