Information, its studies and informational practices: assertive crossings of mediation and its dimensions as the foundation of information science

Resumo: | Objective: Analytical approach to information, its studies and informational practices, seeking to situate the mediation of the information and its dimensions in the epistemological contours of the scientific field of Information Science. Methodology: Bibliographical study with the adoption of the systematic literature review (RSL). Results: As philosophers and researchers from other fields who have reflected and reflected on the relationships between thought, language and representation in the process of knowledge construction and sharing, Information Science researchers have done the same when dealing with production, organization, circulation, dissemination, retrieval, access, use and appropriation of information, evidencing that these processes are characterized as layers of the phenomenon, which drive interdisciplinary dialogue. On the other hand, the mediation of the information acts as an attracting element of these constitutive layers of information as a social phenomenon. Conclusions: The historical and epistemological outline of studies and informational practices, on the one hand, reveal the complexity of the information phenomenon that motivates interdisciplinary dialogue with other domains of knowledge, and on the other hand, offer evidence that allows the proposition that the mediation of the information, with its dimensions, can be considered a foundation of Information Science. |

Metodología: Estudio bibliográfico con la adopción de la revisión sistemática de la literatura (RSL). Resultados: Como filósofos e investigadores de otros campos que han reflexionado sobre las relaciones entre pensamiento, lenguaje y representación en el proceso de construcción e intercambio de conocimiento, los investigadores de Ciencia de la Información han hecho lo mismo en lo que respecta a la producción, organización, circulación, difusión, recuperación, acceso, uso y apropiación de la información, evidenciando que estos procesos se caracterizan como capas del fenómeno, que impulsan el diálogo interdisciplinario. Por otro lado, la mediación de la información actúa como un elemento que atrae estas capas constitutivas de la información, como fenómeno social. Conclusiones: La traza histórica y epistemológica de los estudios y prácticas informacionales, por un lado, revelan la complejidad del fenómeno de la información que motiva el diálogo interdisciplinario con otros dominios del conocimiento, y por otro lado ofrecen evidencia que permite plantear que la mediación de la información, con sus dimensiones, puede considerarse un fundamento de la Ciencia de la Información.Objetivo: Abordagem analítica acerca da informação, seus estudos e fazeres, buscando situar a mediação da informação e suas dimensões nos contornos epistemológicos do campo científico da Ciência da Informação. Metodologia: Estudo bibliográfico com a adoção da revisão sistemática da literatura (RSL). Resultados: Como filósofos e pesquisadores de outros campos que refletiram e refletem acerca das relações entre pensamento, linguagem e representação no processo de construção e compartilhamento do conhecimento, os pesquisadores da Ciência da Informação têm feito o mesmo ao tratarem da produção, organização, circulação, disseminação, recuperação, acesso, uso e apropriação da informação, evidenciando que esses processos se caracterizam como camadas do fenômeno, que impulsionam o diálogo interdisciplinar. Por outro lado, verifica-se que a mediação da informação atua como um elemento atrator dessas camadas constitutivas da informação na sua condição de fenômeno social.
