Resumo: | This study aimed to evaluate occupational stress and coping strategies in teachers of Inclusive Education. The participants were 15 Mozambican teachers, who work in an Inclusive Educational Resources Center in the province of Nampula. The data were collected through a mixed questionnaire, which included professional and sociodemographic data, the Lipp Inventary of Stress Symptoms for Adults and some open-ended questions. The categorical content analysis showed that teachers perceived their work as stressful. The stress symptomatology was mainly physical. The main source of stress for the teachers was of situational nature. To face the stressful situations at work, the teachers fundamentally resort to palliative strategies. It’s suggested to change the stressful labor environment and teacher’s education and training in coping strategies.Keywords: inclusive education; mental health; occupational stress. |

Quince maestros mozambiqueños que trabajan en un Centro de Recursos de Educación Inclusiva en la provincia de Nampula participaron en el estudio. Los datos se recopilaron mediante un cuestionario mixto, que incluía datos sociodemográficos y ocupacionales, el Inventario de síntomas de estrés de adultos de Lipp y algunas preguntas abiertas. El análisis de contenido categórico de las respuestas mostró que los maestros percibían su trabajo como estresante. Los síntomas de estrés fueron predominantemente físicos. Las principales fuentes de estrés para los maestros son de naturaleza situacional. Para hacer frente a situaciones estresantes en el trabajo, los maestros utilizan esencialmente estrategias centradas en las emociones. Se sugiere la modificación del ambiente de trabajo estresante y la educación y capacitación de los maestros en estrategias de afrontamiento.Este estudo objetivou avaliar o estresse ocupacional e as estratégias de enfrentamento em professores da Educação Inclusiva. Participaram do estudo 15 professores moçambicanos que trabalham num Centro de Recursos de Educação Inclusiva na província de Nampula. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário misto, no qual incluía dados sociodemográficos e profissionais, Inventário de Sintomas de Estresse para Adultos de Lipp e algumas questões abertas. A análise de conteúdo categorial das respostas mostrou que os professores perceberam o seu trabalho como estressante. A sintomatologia de estresse foi predominantemente de ordem física. As principais fontes de estresse dos professores foram de natureza situacional. Para fazer face às situações de estresse no trabalho, os professores recorrem essencialmente às estratégias focalizadas na emoção.
