Percepção de competência e desempenho motor: um estudo correlacional com escolares

Resumo: This study had as an objective, to analyze the level of perceived competence and motor performance from 11 and 12 years old students, from Cascavel city of the Paraná. The sample was composed for 672 students from schools (13.1% of the population), with ages between 11 and 12 years, of 5th and 6th series of the basic education of the state schools (340 of female sort and 332 of the male sort). To verify the competence perception, the Protocol of Perception of Competence of Harter was used (1985), adapted for Fiorese (1993). The motor performance was evaluated by means of tests considered for Gaia and Silva (2007), being selected the tests of explosive force of superior members, explosive force of inferior members, test of agility and test of speed. The protocol considered was used for Fernandes Filho (1999) for collection of the referring data to the stature and corporal mass. For analysis of the data statistical package SPSS 13,0 for Windows was used. It was used descriptive statistics. Test "U" of Mann-Whitney was used to verify the differences between sort, age and sportive experience in relation the variable of performance and competence perception. To verify the association enters the factors of competence perception and the performance variable were used the Qui-square Test. Value of p<0,05 was adopted. The results had demonstrated a significant difference enter the sorts in the perception of competence in subscales motor and physical appearance and mannering behavior. It enters the participants of esportive training and not participant ones, were found a significant difference in subscales affective and a highly significant difference for subscale motor. With relation to the pertaining to school performance had been observed significant differences between the ages and the sorts. In the tests of motor performance the group that participates of training presented significantly better values in all the tests in relation to the group that does not participate. It was observed negative associations significant in the test of explosive force of inferior members in the group the participants of sportive training. The conclusion is that when someone makes part of a sportive training it can assist in the development of the self-confidence and of self-esteem motor and to favor the development of a positive self-concept.

A amostra, tipo conglomerado, foi composta por 672 escolares (13,1% da população), com idades entre 11 e 12 anos, de 5ª e 6ª série do ensino fundamental das escolas estaduais (340 do gênero feminino e 332 do gênero masculino). Para verificar a percepção de competência, foi utilizado o Protocolo de Percepção de Competência de Harter (1985), adaptado por Fiorese (1993). O desempenho motor foi avaliado por meio de testes propostos por Gaia e Silva (2007), sendo selecionados os testes de força explosiva de membros superiores, força explosiva de membros inferiores, de agilidade e de velocidade. Foi utilizado o protocolo proposto por Fernandes Filho (1999) para coleta dos dados referentes à estatura e massa corporal. Para análise dos dados foi utilizado o pacote estatístico SPSS 13.0 para Windows. Utilizou-se a estatística descritiva. O Teste U de Mann-Whitney foi utilizado para verificar as diferenças entre os grupos (gênero, idade e experiência esportiva) em relação as variáveis de percepção de competência e de desempenho. O Teste do Quiquadrado foi utilizado para verificar a associação entre as variáveis de percepção de competência e de desempenho dos escolares. Foi adotado valor de p<0,05. Os resultados demonstraram uma diferença significativa entre os gêneros na percepção de competência nas subescalas motora, aparência física e conduta comportamental Entre os participantes de treinamento esportivo e os não participantes, foi encontrada uma diferença significativa na subescala afetiva e uma diferença altamente significativa para a subescala motora. Com relação ao desempenho escolar foram observadas diferenças significativas entre as idades e entre os gêneros. Nos testes de desempenho motor os que participam de treinamentos apresentaram valores significativamente melhores em todos os testes em relação aos que não participam. Observou-se associação significativa no teste de força explosiva de membros inferiores no grupo que participa de treinamento esportivo.
