Resumo: Manga: a study of fictional form and its reception as literacy practise claims to investigate ways of fictional manga in Brazil, the comics, which transcend borders becoming effective Reading practises of large number of Brazilian people. The work is justified in that proposes to understand the reading manga as literary literacy practises, opening space so that these studies be able to be included in the literary field and analyzed not only by sociologists, writers and drawers. Therefore, it was necessary to discuss concepts about literature itself, opting for authors who consider its social aspect and not only essentialist views about the theme, such as Escarpit (1969) and Culler (1999). Then we tried to reflect on concepts of literacy, from the definition presented initially by Street (1995), to discuss in this context, the literary literacy. Considering that the literary pratice in our contemporary culture is deeply marked by digital media, the issue was inserted into the discussions about the multimodalities, globalizations, and culture in cyberspace, from considerations of authors such as Levy (1999), Hall (2006) and Canclini (2008). Furthermore, in relation to the analyses of our subject, we decided to do a literature search, investigating studies that address the manga from its origins to the presente day, outlining some of its features, especially Luyten (2005) and Moliné (2004). Deepening this study, we attempted to apply the theory of Eisner (1989) and McCloud (2000, 2006) about the manga comics in the analysis, specifically, in order to exemplify, in Death Note, the object of analysis. In this work, we chose to exemplify our images, some scenes of One Piece. It has been proposed, yet, a study of manga reception, through a structured uestionnaire, applied to attendees of trade specializing in comics, card games, action figures, among others in the genre. Thereby it was possible to identify the profile of readers of the manga viewers especifically here in Maringa City of Parana State: Young people, who are both readers (manga), viewers (anime) and surfers (many other modalities), interested in adventure stories experienced by characters well buit and well characterized, working on innovative and amazing stories. They are assiduous readers who know the characteristics of the modes and take the time to carry out such literary literacy practices. It is understood, therefore, several readings are capable of forming the identity reader of our country. This research intends to show the manga as only one of these reading practices, sinalizing that, as educators, we must pay attention to these modes, which claim to be discovered, recognized and reinvented every day in this world of sustained changes.
