Introduction: Incidences of medical emergencies in dental offices are not frequent, and may be related to the patient´s clinical situation and also to the procedures performed by the dentist. Objective: this work developed a dental tube prototype that facilitates the possibility of positive aspiration in na easy way. Material and method: First, a bibliographic review of the main adverse situations experienced by dentists was carried out, and it was found that the signs and symptoms reported in the reviewed articles may be related to the administration of local anesthetic inside the blood vessels of the patients, associated with to the fact that they also have chronic systemic diseases to demonstrate anxiety and fear of the procedure. Therefore, the developed device facilitates the act of anesthetizing the patient safely, avoiding a possible intercurrence. Results: The product tests were carried out at the Simulation Laboratory of the Department of Medicine at the State University of Maringá, creating an air chamber in the dental tube with space for the entry of liquid in case the professional accidentally performs an intravenous injection. This was demonstrated with the help of a mannnequin for venous access and the efficiency of the tube was verified filling with a colored liquid when it purposely came into contact with the device that simulates an artery. Conclusion: the air chamber developed in the dental tube makes it possible to safely verify a positive aspiration.
