Resumo: This article deals with the results of an ethnic-racial self-declaratory research carried out with students from the Territorial Center for Professional Education in the Extreme South, CETEPES - BA. The research was developed with questionnaires based on the IBGE (2013) sense of the ethnic-racial characteristics of the Brazilian population; thus aiming to understand how students perceive racial inequalities, as well as to what extent the characteristics of color, phenotypic heritage, political ideology, cultural tradition, family origin and social class affect the act of self-belonging to a specific ethnic-racial group. The results obtained in the research were compared with national and state data and analyzed according to the students' historical, social and regional context.

La encuesta se realizó con cuestionarios basados en el sentido del IBGE (2013) de las características étnico-raciales de la población brasileña y tenía como objetivo comprender cómo los estudiantes perciben las desigualdades raciales y en qué medida las características del color, la herencia fenotípica, la ideología política, la tradición cultural. , el origen familiar y la clase social afectan el acto de decir que pertenecen a un determinado grupo étnico-racial. Los resultados obtenidos en la investigación se compararon con datos nacionales, estatales y se analizaron de acuerdo con el contexto histórico, social y regional de los estudiantes.O presente artigo versa sobre os resultados de uma pesquisa autodeclaratória étnico-racial desenvolvida com estudantes do Centro Territorial de Educação Profissional do Extremo Sul, CETEPES - BA. A pesquisa foi elaborada com questionários baseados no senso do IBGE (2013) sobre as características étnico-raciais da população brasileira e visou compreender como os discentes percebem as desigualdades raciais e em que medida as características de cor, patrimônio fenotípico, ideologia política, tradição cultural, origem familiar e classe social incidem sobre o ato de dizer-se pertencentes a determinado grupo étnico-racial.
