Resumo: Comprehension is provided on how a group of teachers from the 5th to the 8th grade of a government junior high school in Maringá, state of Paraná, Brazil develop their teaching abilities on water as a subject matter. Investigation is related to discussions held within the community in the context of water scarcity leading towards a worldwide crisis. Since teachers are responsible for teaching and learning, research shows how the teachers think, organize and develop their activity in classroom.

Tal necessidade de investigação está relacionada às discussões presentes na sociedade frente à problemática de escassez, apontando para uma crise global.
