Resumo: This article deals with critical sociology aiming to offer a brief introduction to the study of social processes which along the last 200 years have appropriated modern sport phenomenon. As a result of the alliance between aristocracy and post-industrial revolution emergent bourgeoisie, critical sociology through dialectic has endeavored to perceive how such processes have been bestowing certain characteristics to sport according to class interests. Approaches in which these interests are clearly identifiable are specially emphasized in order to promote a reflection on each specific profile regarding the interaction of these processes. Finally it is suggested that physical education may adopt sport as one of its study objects on sport culture from an interdisciplinary and dialogical perspective of knowledge production.

Department of Physical Education - State University of Maringá (UEM), Maringá-PR, Brazil2008-06-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3824Journal of Physical Education; Vol 9 No 1 (1998); 25-34Journal of Physical Education; Vol. 9 Núm. 1 (1998); 25-34Journal of Physical Education; v. 9 n. 1 (1998); 25-342448-2455reponame:Journal of Physical Education (Maringá)instname:Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)instacron:UEMporhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/3824/2636Pires, Giovani de Lorenziinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-01-10T15:37:25Zoai:periodicos.uem.br/ojs:article/3824Revistahttp://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/indexPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.php||revdef@uem.br2448-24552448-2455opendoar:2023-01-10T15:37:25Journal of Physical Education (Maringá) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)false
