Resumo: Objective: To evaluate the levels of IGF-1 and muscle strength in elderly women with musculoskeletal dysfunctions submitted to kinesiotherapy. Method: The research was quasi- experimental. Sample: 70 sedentary elderly, aged 68.52 ± 4.62 years and BMI 27.96 ± 4.01, divided into two equal groups: the intervention group underwent 12 weeks of exercise (GE) and control group (CG). We evaluated the serum levels of IGF-1 by the Chemiluminescence method and muscle strength by testing one maximum repetition (1MR) in flexion movements (CF) and hip extension (EQ), flexion (PF) and shoulder extension (EO). Results: The SPANOVA revealed that the EG presented a significant increase in IGF-1 (Δ% = 19.09, p = 0.03). There was a significant increase in muscle strength in GE in the movements of FO (Δ% = 27.88, p

There was a significant increase in muscle strength in GE in the movements of FO (Δ% = 27.88, p O estudo teve como objetivo avaliar os níveis de IGF-1 e força muscular em mulheres idosas com disfunções musculoesqueléticas submetidas à cinesioterapia.
