Resumo: The aim of this study was to investigate the adolescents` lifestyle in public and private schools of Florianopolis-SC. Participated of the study 865 adolescents, 484 of private school and 381 of the public school. The Profile of Lifestyle questionnaire, adapted for Adolescents was used to investigate the lifestyle and criteria of Brazilian Association of Companies of Research were used to identify the socio-economic situation. Data were treated with descriptive and inferential statistics. The Chi-Square, Mann-Whitney “U” and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used. One observes that the life conditions for adolescents from Florianopolis are positive, because only the stress was identified as a negative behavior. Moreover, a better lifestyle is associated with a high socio-economic situation, the male gender and the private school.

Participaram deste estudo 865 adolescentes, 484 da escola privada e 381 da pública. O estilo de vida foi investigado através do questionário Perfil do Estilo de Vida, adaptado para adolescentes e a situação sócio-econômica através dos critérios da Associação Brasileira de Empresas de Pesquisa. Os dados foram tratados com estatística descritiva e inferencial. Foram utilizados os testes Qui-quadrado, “U” de Mann Whitney e Kruskal-Wallis. Observa-se que as condições de vida, para os adolescentes de Florianópolis são positivas, pois somente o estresse foi identificado como um comportamento negativo.
