This monograph is an analysis of a historical and social nature, which examines the Cordel Literature folhetos written by women. This research addresses the origins of Cordel, with regard to its definition, transmission process and main authors, delving into the structural aspects of this genre, such as measurement and classification. This entire journey leads to the study of the position of cordelista female authorship in relation to the history of oral and written cordelista production by men. As this monograph includes a bibliographical review, research was also carried out on the origins of female literary writing. Of theoretical support, there were contributions from Lopes (1982), Cavalcante (1982), Souza (1976), Luyten (1981), Queiroz (2006), Santos (2009), Telles (2022), among others. The analysis ends with discussions about the fundamentally social themes present in the leaflets of Maranhão cordelistas Raimunda Frazão and Goreth Pereira, realizing how the social environment in which the authors grew up, worked and live, directly influenced the production of their writings.
