The Federal Technical School of Rio Grande do Norte (ETFRN) Curriculum Proposal: integral educational formation in the face of neoliberal advancement

Resumo: In this article, we aim to know and analyze the Curriculum Proposal implemented by the Federal Technical School of Rio Grande do Norte (ETFRN) in 1995, therefore, in the scenario in which the neoliberal project was gaining strength in Brazil and was already present in economic and educational policies. For this discussion, we carried out, initially, an exploratory research on the relationship between neoliberalism and education, and then a documentary research, in which we investigate the Curriculum Proposal and its content. The reading of the document led us to some conclusions: the ETFRN curricular model proposed technical courses with long studyhours, with the purpose of promoting integral human formation, through the union of theory and practice, breaking with the structural duality of Brazilian education . Thus, the institution was opposed to fast courses which were aimed to the demand of job market, according to the guidelines of neoliberal policies for education.

Para esta discusión, realizamos, inicialmente, una investigación exploratoria sobre la relación entre neoliberalismo y educación, y luego una investigación documental, en la que indagamos la Propuesta Curricular y su contenido. La lectura del documento nos llevó a algunas conclusiones: el modelo curricular de la ETFRN propuso cursos técnicos con largas horas, con el propósito de promover la formación humana integral, a través de la unión de la teoría con la práctica, rompiendo con la dualidad estructural de la educación brasileña. Así, la institución se contrapuso a los cursos de corta duración desarrollados hacia la demanda del mercado laboral, de acuerdo con las orientaciones de las políticas neoliberales para la educación.Neste artigo, temos como objetivo conhecer e analisar a Proposta Curricular implementada pela Escola Técnica Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (ETFRN), em 1995, portanto, no cenário em que o projeto neoliberal ganhava força no Brasil e já se fazia presente nas políticas econômicas e educacionais. Para tal discussão, realizamos, inicialmente, uma pesquisa exploratória sobre a relação entre o neoliberalismo e a educação e, em seguida, uma pesquisa documental, na qual investigamos a Proposta Curricular e o seu conteúdo. A leitura do documento nos levou a algumas conclusões: o modelo curricular da ETFRN propunha cursos técnicos com cargas horárias longas, com o propósito de promover a formação humana integral, mediante a união da teoria e a prática, rompendo com a dualidade estrutural da educação brasileira.
