The knowledge needed for advisors in the Strict Sensu Graduate Studies in Education: a review study

Resumo: Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs brings together the highest degrees of academic training in Brazil. At the core of the process the mentees and advisors are found. The relationship between these two agents is similar to that of the mentor and his/her disciple, in which the mentor teaches the disciple what he/she knows. This review article aims to investigate the knowledge needed by advisors in Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs in the 21st century, based on articles published between 2000 and 2022 on the Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) platform. The results point to the need for more investigations into guidance, especially from the point of view of the advisors. Among the knowledge necessary for these, it is highlighted those related to research and publication methods, the development of a schedule to assist in conducting the research, the acquisition and management of resources and the professional training of the mentees. Notably, the relationships between these agents are linked to the student’s successful completion of the process. Keywords: Graduate education. Stricto Sensu. Advisors. Knowledge.

Knowledge.El Postgrado Stricto Sensu (PGSS) reúne los más altos grados de formación académica de Brasil. En el centro del proceso están los supervisados y los orientadores. La relación entre estos dos agentes es similar a la del maestro y su discípulo, en la que el maestro enseña al discípulo lo que conoce. Este artículo de revisión tiene como objetivo investigar los saberes necesarios para los asesores del PGSS en Educación, en el siglo XXI, a partir de artículos publicados entre los años 2000 y 2022, en la plataforma del Education Resources Information Center (ERIC). Los resultados apuntan a la necesidad de más investigaciones sobre la orientación, sobre todo, de la visión de los orientadores. Entre los saberes necesarios para estos, se señalan los relacionados con los métodos de investigación y publicación, la elaboración de un cronograma para auxiliar en la realización de la investigación, la adquisición y gestión de recursos y la formación profesional de los supervisados. Se destaca que las relaciones entre estos agentes están ligadas al éxito en la conclusión del proceso por parte del estudiante. Palabras clave: Postgrado Stricto Sensu. Orientadores. Saberes.A Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu (PGSS) reúne os mais altos graus da formação acadêmica no Brasil. No centro do processo, estão os orientandos e os orientadores. A relação entre esses dois agentes é semelhante à do mestre e seu discípulo, na qual o mestre ensina ao discípulo aquilo que conhece. Este artigo de revisão tem o objetivo de investigar os saberes necessários aos orientadores na PGSS em Educação, no século XXI, a partir de artigos publicados entre os anos 2000 e 2022, na plataforma Education Resources Information Center (ERIC). Os resultados apontam para a necessidade de mais investigações sobre a orientação, sobretudo na visão dos orientadores. Dentre os saberes necessários a estes, assinalam-se os relacionados aos métodos de pesquisa e publicação, à elaboração de um cronograma para auxiliar na condução da pesquisa, à aquisição e gestão de recursos e à formação profissional dos orientandos.
