Indigenous Epistemes (Guarani and Kaingang) and University: the trajectories of meetings in participatory and collaborative actions

Resumo: The experience of research with indigenous groups (Guarani and Kaingang) in two universities of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) has provoked reflections about interculturality and the meaning of collaborative and participatory actions in this context. In this paper, we start from the practice, of systematic meetings with indigenous people through education, research and extension; we problematize their contributions to universities and, at the same time, we seek to develop a theoretical discussion on our own actions, reviewing the trajectories based on dialogues and theories developed during the continuous experiences of collaborative work. With this, we are willing to think about the meaning of theories and methodologies that are built in the dialogue that involves our investigations and that entails the advancing of the living conditions of indigenous partners, understanding the importance of authorship and of pondering over one’s own reality.   Keywords: Participatory research. En este artículo, partimos de la práctica, de encuentros sistemáticos con indígenas por medio de la enseñanza, de la investigación y de la extensión; problematizamos las contribuciones de estos para las universidades y, al mismo tiempo, buscamos realizar una discusión teórica sobre nuestras propias acciones, reviendo las trayectorias a partir de diálogos, de teorizaciones a lo largo de vivencias continuas de trabajo colaborativo. Con ello, también nos disponemos a pensar el sentido de teorías y metodologías que se construyen en el diálogo que involucra nuestras investigaciones y que tiene como presupuesto el avanzar en las condiciones de vida de los compañeros indígenas comprendiendo la importancia de la autoría y del poder pensar su propia realidad.   Palabras clave: Investigación participante. Interculturalidad.A experiência de pesquisa com coletivos indígenas (Guarani e Kaingang) em duas universidades no Rio Grande do Sul (Brasil) tem provocado reflexões acerca da interculturalidade e do sentido de ações participantes e colaborativas nesse contexto. Neste artigo, partimos da prática, de encontros sistemáticos com os indígenas por meio do ensino, da pesquisa e da extensão; problematizamos as contribuições destes para as universidades e, ao mesmo tempo, buscamos fazer uma discussão teórica sobre as próprias ações, revendo as trajetórias a partir de diálogos, de teorizações ao longo de vivências contínuas de trabalho colaborativo.
