Heidegger and the University: on the essential link between science and education

Resumo: This article presents, as a result of a bibliographical research, the general lines of Heidegger’s criticism of University from his time, marked by the growing fragmentation of sciences into specialized disciplines and by the consequent rupture with an effective ideal of human formation. In addition, the article seeks to structure a general comprehension of the university reform proposal that the philosopher announces in the Rector’s Speech, which core is centered in the reestablishment of the University as a privileged space for the transformation of the individual and collective existence. The fundamental thesis is that Heidegger seeks to restore to the University its formative role, already conceived by Humboldt, but through the path of ontological questioning. Bearing in mind the contextual references and the transformations that have affected the university since the time when Heidegger carried out his reflections, in the first half of the 20th century, it is believed that these ponderations are still relevant to mobilize the debate today. Human formation.Este artículo presenta, como resultado de una investigación bibliográfica, las líneas generales de la crítica de Heidegger a la Universidad de su tiempo, marcada por la fragmentación creciente de las ciencias en asignaturas especializadas y por el consecuente rompimiento con un ideal efectivo de formación humana. Además, busca estructurar una comprensión general de la propuesta de reforma universitaria que el filósofo anuncia en el Discurso del rectorado, cuyo núcleo es el restablecimiento de la Universidad en cuanto espacio privilegiado para la transformación de la existencia individual y colectiva. La tesis de fondo es que Heidegger busca devolver a la Universidad su papel formativo, ya concebido por Humboldt, pero por el camino del cuestionamiento ontológico. Guardadas las diferencias contextuales y las transformaciones que alcanzaron a la institución universitaria desde la época en que Heidegger produjo sus reflexiones, en la primera mitad del siglo XX, se cree que ellas son aún pertinentes para movilizar el debate en la actualidad. Formación Human.Este artigo apresenta, como resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, as linhas gerais da crítica de Heidegger à Universidade de seu tempo, marcada pela fragmentação crescente das ciências em disciplinas especializadas e pelo consequente rompimento com um ideal efetivo de formação humana. Além disso, busca estruturar uma compreensão geral da proposta de reforma universitária que o filósofo anuncia no Discurso do reitorado, cujo núcleo é o reestabelecimento da Universidade enquanto espaço privilegiado para a transformação da existência individual e coletiva. A tese de fundo é que Heidegger procura devolver à Universidade o seu papel formativo, já concebido por Humboldt, mas pelo caminho do questionamento ontológico. Guardadas as diferenças contextuais e as transformações que atingiram a instituição universitária desde a época em que Heidegger produziu suas reflexões, na primeira metade do século XX, acredita-se que elas são ainda pertinentes para mobilizar o debate na atualidade.
