A study of academic elite in the field of Education Policy in Brazil

Resumo: | The developed study required parameters of objectification for the construction of the epistemic-practical space of Education Policy in the Post-Graduate Programs in Education of the Northeast region of Brazil. Statistical instruments were used, such as the descriptive analysis and factor analysis of multiple correspondence - whose objective was to highlight and, at the same time, to delimit the different kinds of capital acting in the space of social production of knowledge, through capital properties (or positional attributes) extracted from the Lattes Platform of CNPq. In fact, it became necessary to recognize the historically situated academic elite as holders of specific values and with socially defined interests in the scientific field of Education Policy. The discussion converges to an analysis about the social and practical determinants of the agents that produce academic representations in this field, since it is necessary to explore the logic of competitive struggles and the battles that take place around the game to impose the production agenda, understood as agents’ positions taken in relation to their universe of social practices. Northeast Region.El estudio desarrollado exigió parámetros de objetivación para la construcción del espacio epistémico-práctico de la Política Educativa en los Programas de Postgrado en Educación de la región Nordeste de Brasil. Fueron utilizados instrumentos estadísticos, a ejemplo del análisis descriptivo y análisis factorial de correspondencia múltiple - cuyo objetivo fue evidenciar y, paralelamente, delimitar las diferentes especies de capital actuantes en el espacio de producción social del conocimiento, por medio de propiedades de capitales (o atributos posicionales) extraídas de la Plataforma Lattes del CNPq. En efecto, se hizo necesario reconocer las élites académicas, situadas históricamente, como detentoras de valores específicos y con intereses socialmente definidos en el campo científico de la Política Educativa. La discusión converge para un análisis en torno a los condicionantes sociales y prácticos de los agentes que producen representaciones académicas en ese campo, ya que es necesario explorar la lógica de las luchas competitivas y las batallas que se dan en torno al juego para la imposición de la agenda de producción, entendidos como tomas de posición de los agentes en relación a su universo de prácticas sociales. Región Nordeste.O estudo desenvolvido exigiu parâmetros de objetivação para construção do espaço epistêmico-prático da Política Educacional nos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Educação da região Nordeste do Brasil. Foram utilizados instrumentos estatísticos, a exemplo da análise descritiva e análise fatorial de correspondência múltipla – cujo objetivo foi evidenciar e, paralelamente, delimitar as diferentes espécies de capital atuantes no espaço de produção social do conhecimento, por meio de propriedades de capitais (ou atributos posicionais) extraídas da Plataforma Lattes do CNPq. Com efeito, tornou-se necessário reconhecer as elites acadêmicas, situadas historicamente, como detentoras de valores específicos e com interesses socialmente definidos no campo científico da Política Educacional. A discussão converge para uma análise em torno dos condicionantes sociais e práticos dos agentes que produzem representações acadêmicas nesse campo, haja vista ser necessário explorar a lógica das lutas concorrenciais e as batalhas que se dão em torno do jogo para imposição da agenda de produção, entendidos como tomadas de posição dos agentes em relação ao seu universo de práticas sociais.
