Students with high skills/giftedness at UFPB: the right to education in the context of inclusive education

Resumo:   This article presents a theoretical discussion about High Abilities/Giftedness (HA/GT) and the actions of the Inclusion and Accessibility Commitee (IAC) of the Federal University of Paraiba (UFPB). The issue at hand is the inclusion of students with HA/GT in higher education with the objective of knowing who these people are and what are their needs; the myths that surround them; as well as a discussion about legal principles and the materialization of inclusion at UFPB. This study has a qualitative approach, with bibliographical and documental characteristics, making use of primary sources. The data allows us to state that people with HA/GT still are, in many ways, invisible in educational institutions, highlighting the need to promote propositional actions of inclusion that permeate, initially, through the identification of subjects, the creation of groups/nuclei that can conceive and implement an inclusive academic curriculum, as well as eliminating barriers within the academic sphere.

La problematización se refiere a la inclusión de estudiantes con AH/SD en la educación superior con el objetivo de conocer quienes son esas personas, sus necesidades y los mitos involucrados; además de una discusión sobre los principios legales y la materialización de la inclusión en la UFPB. Este estudio tiene un enfoque cualitativo, con características bibliográficas y documentales, utilizando fuentes primarias. Los datos permiten afirmar que las personas con AH/SD siguen siendo, por muchas veces, invisibilizadas en las instituciones educativas, haciendo hincapié à la necesidad de promover acciones propositivas de inclusión que permeen, inicialmente, la identificación de los sujetos, la creación de grupos/núcleos que puedan pensar e implementar un currículo académico inclusivo, así como la eliminación de barreras en el ámbito universitario.Este artigo apresenta uma discussão teórica sobre Altas Habilidades/Superdotação (AH/SD) e as ações do Comitê de Inclusão e Acessibilidade (CIA) da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). A problematização é a inclusão de estudantes com AH/SD na educação superior com o objetivo de conhecer quem são estas pessoas, suas necessidades e os mitos que as cercam; além de uma discussão sobre princípios legais e a materialização da inclusão na UFPB. Este estudo tem abordagem qualitativa, com características bibliográficas e documentais, utilizando-se de fontes primárias.
