Dropouts in tertiary education vary according to knowledge area, region, market prospects, types of selection processes, financial problems, and solid secondary education. Due to the high dropout rate of the degree course in Agrarian Sciences, this work aims to verify the reasons that raised this rate to 75% dropout during the course. The methodology for the creation of this work was through the interaction of documentary and field research. The documentary research was conducted in articles, congress materials, seminars, magazines, websites and suitable platforms. For the field research this was conducted interviews with open questions, individually and recorded in order to know the opinion of teachers and university students who continue and who have evaded the course, about possible causes of the large dropout. The reasons reported in the interviews were diverse, among the most mentioned being the lack of recognition and dissemination and affinity with the course, lack of interest of the institution and the teachers with the course. The way it was created from the course directly affected everyone involved. Thus, effective planning is required for the opening of new courses so that the University can offer quality courses to the satisfaction of all involved, teachers, students and staff, and the form of dropout will only be necessary. for lack of affinity or personal problems.
