As normalistas representadas na Imprensa: o magistério pelas páginas do Jornal O Fluminense em Niterói (1955-1959)

This research aims to analyze, through the pages of the Jornal O Fluminense, the social representations of the normalists, highlighting the section A silhouette in focus of the column entitled O Fluminense in society, from 1955 to 1959. The demarcated period is justified, as we consider that it brings together initiatives that resulted in teacher training, in particular on the conception around the normalists who represented them as docile, fragile, often linking them to the mother figure. It is important to consider that the period encompasses the second term of office of Mayor Alberto Rodrigues Fortes, in the Municipality of Niterói in the State of Rio de Janeiro, when the configuration of municipal schools in Niterói began. During his administration, a policy of expanding access to education for children from popular classes was implemented. These initiatives increased the demand for teachers, who from the Normal Course would work in Niterói's primary schools. The set of documental sources considered has as centrality the Jornal O Fluminense, founded in 1878, which circulated simultaneously in Niterói and in the State of Rio de Janeiro, as well as the Report of the administration of the mayor Alberto Rodrigues Fortes de (1956), the Report of Ministry of Education, (1959), Decree-Law No. 8. 530, Organic Law of the Normal Course of 1946, Reports from the Magazine O Cruzeiro (1950-1960), among others. In this work, we adopted as references Chartier (1998, 2002), Bloch (2004), Le Goff (1994), Luca (2008, 2012, 2018), Bassanezi (2004), Bourdieu (1997, 2012, 2014, 2017,), Beauvoir (2009), Louro (1997, 2008), Villela (2007, 2009), Hahner (1981), Lopes (2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2016), Perrot (2017), Pinsky (2014), Scott (2011), Camara (2014, 2017), among others.
