Resumo: The general objective of this study is to analyze the social representations of spirituality among nurses who assist people living with HIV and their relationship in the context of health and nursing. The specific objectives are: to identify the representational contents about spirituality among nurses who assist people living with HIV; describe the contents and internal organization of the social representations of spirituality among nurses; confirm the elements that give meaning to the social representations of spirituality among nurses; discuss the implications of the social representations of spirituality in nursing care provided to people living with HIV from the representations of nurses. This is a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, guided by the Theory of Social Representations in its structural approach, carried out in a University Hospital in Rio de Janeiro. In the first stage, 198 nurses participated in the study with the application of the word-free evocation technique to the term spirituality inducer. In the second moment participated 30 respondents responding to mise-en-cause; 30 to choix-par-Bloc to the term spirituality inducer. Starting from the indication of centrality by the prototypic analysis, the representation of spirituality presents a practical/attitudinal dimension perceived through the elements of faith, belief and peace, an imagery of the sacred God. In carrying out the analysis of similarity by correlations the indication for centrality was for the cognemas God and faith, who made the greatest number of connections with other elements. During the structural analysis, tests were carried out to investigate and define the centrality and role of the elements constituting representation. In the CPB, it was observed that the elements are linked in three dimensions, one transcendental and normative with God and Jesus, another affective/valorative dimension with the cognemas love and hope, and a practical dimension with the Faith elements, strength and prayer, respectively. Already in the MEC, it was found that, the non-negotiable elements were faith, believe, love and hope. It is concluded that they were more functional, more practical as well as affective elements, and that faith is the central term. It is evident that the relationship of the subjects with the sacred/divine God has relevance, even if it has not been central. Being close to God is considered by the participants something for the development of spirituality, and through it is obtained love, strength and peace to carry out their activities and develop in the other the will to follow. Therefore, based on the theory of social representations and the theory of transcultural care, portrayed about nursing care where the nurse needs to understand the cultural environment whose individual lives, as well as considering your thought and your relationship with the sacred, with your faith and religion. However, through the demands brought by the patients themselves, the professional establishes a relationship of trust, sensitive listening, acceptance and appreciation of beliefs, clarifying the doubts that arise during their assistance. Finally, it was found that spirituality is related to the quest to have faith and to be motivated to believe in life to have hope as a form of support to overcome the difficulties of the day-to-day, as a way to achieve well-beingbe and quality of life.

Submitted by Diana CB/B (dianaamadosantos@gmail.com) on 2022-09-12T17:17:12Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação - Gisely de Oliveira Soares Max - 2020 - Completa.pdf: 2453728 bytes, checksum: 993d3995246781cc32096c0b1fb0c157 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2022-09-12T17:17:12Z (GMT).
