Emoção e sua regulação na iniciação esportiva: a perspectiva de atletas de natação, pais e treinadores

Resumo: An athlete's understanding of how he feels and what can help or disrupt training and competition is essential for a good performance. In infancy and the onset of adolescence, the encouragement of family members is fundamental to sports: how they behave before, during and after competitions can affect their children's performance. Cognitive assessments related to emotions are influenced by the development of how they are represented, including their causes and consequences, from the view of the athletes. The responsibilities of the trainer include a number of inseparable aspects: the personal development of the athlete, the formation of sports qualities and the construction of the foundations of a sports career. Interventions made by the coach during the early stages of the athlete's career are crucial for athletes to stay and evolve according to their potential. The coach is in charge of promoting tactical, technical and physical development, with consequences for psychological development. The theoretical framework used for the study of such concepts and theories is found in Developmental Psychology, Sport Psychology and Family Psychology. The socio- emotional development, which influences the sporting performance, has as an ally the relationship of the parents with their children and the young athletes with their coach. Emotional regulation is a skill that has a progressive development throughout life. If the behavioral patterns of those responsible for athletes create safety, greater cognitive investment greater performances can be observed. The better resolution of problems and of social conflicts can be cited, since they learn adaptive strategies of emotional regulation, being relevant in the sporting scope. The present research aims to understand the perspective of athletes, parents and coaches on emotion and its regulation, during sports initiation on swimming, focusing on competition. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with athletes aged 10 to 13 years, their parents and coaches who, preferably, trained the interviewed children, totaling 18 interviews. With Content Analysis, we can evaluate seven categories: personal development, competition, emotion, time, sport as learning, relationship with parents and posture. We present and discuss the data found, identifying the participation that parents and coaches can have over the athletes and the need for a Psychology program, which favors emotional regulation in the relationship, to accompany and improve sports initiation, parents as well as coaches in the management and development of emotions and their regulation, especially for athletes in this age group, who aim at competition activities

Como na infância e na entrada da adolescência, o incentivo dos familiares é fundamental para a prática esportiva, o modo como eles se portam antes, durante e depois das competições pode afetar o desempenho dos(as) filhos(as). As avaliações cognitivas ligadas às emoções são influenciadas pelo desenvolvimento das representações das emoções, incluindo suas causas e consequências, a partir da visão dos(as) atletas. Já as responsabilidades do treinador abrangem um conjunto de aspectos indissociáveis das suas funções: o desenvolvimento pessoal do praticante, a formação das qualidades esportivas e a construção dos fundamentos de uma carreira esportiva. As intervenções feitas pelo treinador, durante os estágios iniciais da carreira do(a) atleta, são determinantes para que os(as)atletas permaneçam e evoluam, em função do seu potencial. O treinador tem a seu cargo promover o desenvolvimento tático, técnico e físico, tendo consequências para o desenvolvimento psicológico. O referencial teórico utilizado para o estudo de tais conceitos e teorias encontra-se na Psicologia do Desenvolvimento, na Psicologia do Esporte e na Psicologia da Família. O desenvolvimento socioemocional, que influencia a performance esportiva, tem como aliado a relação dos pais com seus(suas) filhos(as) e a dos(as) jovens atletas com seu treinador. A regulação emocional é uma habilidade que tem um desenvolvimento progressivo ao longo da vida. Se os padrões de comportamento dos responsáveis pelos(as) atletas criam segurança, maior investimento cognitivo em novas explorações pode ser observado. Há o favorecimento das resoluções de problemas e de conflitos sociais, pois eles(elas) aprendem estratégias adaptativas de regulação emocional, sendo relevante no âmbito esportivo, ao serem trabalhadas desde a entrada na iniciação. A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo compreender a perspectiva de atletas, pais e treinadores sobre a emoção e sua regulação, durante a iniciação esportiva na natação, com características de competição. Foram feitas entrevistas semiestruturadas com atletas de 10 a 13 anos, seus responsáveis e treinadores que, preferencialmente, treinem os(as) púberes entrevistados(as), totalizando 18 entrevistas. Com a Análise do Conteúdo, podemos avaliar sete categorias: aperfeiçoamento pessoal, competição, emoção, tempo, esporte como aprendizado, relação com os pais e postura.
