The objective of this research is to discuss and to resize the concept of permanence of the tales of oral tradition, materialized in the contemporary narratives through the practice of retell. To that end, we intend to explore the notions of voice, vocality, listening, performance (Cf. ZUMTHOR, 2001), responsible for constructing the oral history in a conntinuum with writing. The approach is inscribed in a qualitative-interpretative paradigm and comprises, from the theoretical point of view, the studies on speech-in-interaction of the interactional sociology and the anthropology of the symbolic and cultural system. The corpus, centered on the ethnographic method, consists of reports of women-embroiderers (from now on Bordadeiras) and it is summarized in video and sound recordings, as well as annotations of the field notebook. In order to account for the cultural phenomenon of permanence, interviews, generators of reports and / or retellings were carried out as a starting point for immersion in the affective memory of the research subjects. The interviews comprised: (1) the stories heard - as the first movement, the women chose the stories known by heart; (2) the stories told: the other point of the permanence of the narratives of oral tradition when the Bordadeiras were invited to tell. More effectively, the interviewees took on the role of storytellers. In the analysis of the corpus, two linguistic resources generating permanence were considered: intertextuality and paraphrase. The analysis of the Bordadeiras discourse was considered without the women having the basic text, different from an oral interlocutor in which the paraphrase is a direct retort of the previous statement attributed to the co-enunciator. The paraphrastic activity developed by Bordadeiras was based on a generic enunciator concerning the universe of oral tradition. In order to verify permanence, it was necessary to migrate from the more structural or distributive view of Hilgert (2015, 2002a, 2002b, 1999, 1989) and to invest the bias of Fuchs' enunciative paraphrase (1994, 1985, 1982), whose level of approach is centered In the degree of interpretation of a given text read or heard at an earlier time.
