O que as crianças cantam na escola? Um estudo sobre infância, música e cultura de massa

This study aims to discuss the relationship between children and the songs they sing and dance spontaneously in school. Under the dialectical and alteritary perspective production of knowledge of Mikhail Bakhtin and employing concepts of truth of Walter Benjamin, this research has been conducted with a group of twenty children of six and seven years of a municipal school in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The theoretical and methodological issues that have arisen as challenges throughout the process of research, the scope of the written text, gained relevance in the face of the peculiar and unique experience of dual performance of teacher and researcher at the school, its limits and contributions. In addition to proposing a reflection on his childhood in contemporary, the text discusses how technological innovations are affecting the artistic sphere and re-configuring relations with the culture, examining how the predominance of the image are significantly changing the relationship with the music. From the material carried by the children themselves, the text raises questions about the music as a product in the context of contemporary cultural industry and the mass, leds to the debate on early eroticism among children and discuss the production of the musical tastes pervaded by the mediation of school and family based on studies of receipt of Jesús Martin-Barbero. The text also proposes the recognition of the school as a privileged place of reflection and critical speech about the different cultural media productions that permeate the lives and minds of children.
