Resumo: Objective: To verify relationship between vertical jump and performance in basketball athletes. Methods: Data collection were collected from 28 athletes, constituting 4 independent teams of the adult category with 25.68 ± 7.69 years of age, time of basketball practice of 12.32 ± 7.16 years, time of competing in the Liga Super Basketball (LSB) of 4.36 ± 3.18 seasons, body mass of 90.90 ± 15.31Kg and height of 1.91 ± 0.08 meters, participating in the state amateur championship of Rio de Janeiro, organized by LSB. Data collection took place during a quadrangular tournament involving 4 teams. Where the countermovement jump was evaluated pre-game, at the end of subsequent quarters and at the end of the game, finishing with 5 collections. Results: Regarding the collection of jumps in play: ANOVA ONE WAY test with TUKEY POST HOC was applied to verify the significant difference between performances and Pearson's correlation to verify possible associations between the variables, adopting a significance level of p≤0, 05. The study found significant differences between height 4 and 1, 4 and 2, positions 5 and 1 and 5 and all for p = 0,00 and between 4 and 3 p = 0,034 and 5 and 3 with p = 0,011, equally. for height. There were no significant differences in the jump performance variables between the different jump moments for p <0,05. The analysis found significant differences only in AS1 between positions 2 and 5 p = 0,03 * and 3 and 5 p = 0,016 **; VOO1 between positions 3 and 5 p = 0,038 *** and VELOC1 between positions 2 and 5 p = 0,037 # and 3 and 5 p = 0,023 ##. In jumps 2,3,4 and 5 no significant differences were found p <0.05. The correlation between F1 performance and offensive rebound was significant p = 0,04 * with low positive r = -0,391. The correlation between F2 performance and offensive rebound was significant p = 0,025 with low positive r = -0,424 *; F2 and defensive rebound was significant p = 0,038 with low positive r = -0,395 **; F2 and total rebound was significant p = 0,012 being low positive r = -0,468 # and F2 and total playing time was significant p = 0,036 being low positive r = -0,398 ## and between P2 with playing time p = 0,024 and r = 0,425 ###. The correlation between F3 performance and offensive rebound was significant p = 0.006 and moderately positive r = -0.515 *. The correlation between LV4 performance and defensive rebound was significant p = 0,010 with low negative r = -0,479 *; LV4 and total rebound was significant p = 0,015 with low negative r = -0,457 **; F4 and offensive rebound was significant p = 0,046 being low positive r = 0,380 #. The correlation between F5 performance and offensive rebound was significant p = 0,019 with low positive r = -0,440 *. Conclusion: With the results of the present study, it can be concluded that strength has a positive correlation for jumping performance during a basketball match and there is no evidence that during a match the jumping performance decreases over the course of a match. Demystifying the concept that during a match the athlete fatigue and loses performanceObjetivo: Verificar a relação entre impulsão vertical e desempenho de atletas de basquetebol. No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao - Bruno Lucas Pinheiro Lima - 2019 - Completa.pdf: 709025 bytes, checksum: 735143e02b021e70a5b3f03a3ad70ad1 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2022-05-18T16:27:30Z (GMT).
