This dissertation aims to build a reflection on the professional record of Social Work, based on the instrument used in the field of Oncology, that is, the single medical record. In this sense, it seeks to develop an analysis of the use of the single medical record by the social workers of INCA / HCI, with the purpose of identifying and understanding the content contained in this instrument. Given the understanding that registration in a single medical record can be considered as part of the systematization of Social Work intervention, the following question arises: is it also possible to designate this document of collective construction as documentation of the scope of knowledge production of Social Work? This is a qualitative research through an exploratory approach. The qualitative material analysis technique used is content analysis. Therefore, the modality approached, based on this technique, refers to thematic analysis. The research identified reference and meaning contents that correspond to most empirical variables, as well as the relevance of the data highlighted in a single chart by the social workers, regarding the collective work process within the Oncology and its contribution to the integrality of health care.
