This text aims to present an emancipatory sports practice, woven in the Colégio Municipal do Sana, which breaks with the sexist logic that prevails in school spaces, considering that there is a non-formal contract between boys and girls at school, a fact that makes evident a power relationship as a social practice. Playgrounds/ pátios/ courtyards and sports courts are dominated almost exclusively by boys, therefore, there is an imposition of patriarchal values and powers. Girls are kept away from school sports practices for cultural reasons, considering that behavior is directly linked to the issue of gender and the roles that are socially assigned to them. Korfball, a Dutch court sport that has to be mixed, establishes an equal relationship among all players, subverts the aforementioned power relationship, and, above all, tenses the meta-standard behavior determined for the genders. The students/athletes felt more empowered with the practice of Korfball during afterschool hours, a fact verified through daily observations and by the analysis of the discourse produced from this sport that does not recognize the imperative of sexual difference.
