The study, "possessed by the past's magic ", searches to descry the places of the Carioca carnival integrants of the Central Area of Rio de Janeiro, which had been appropriated, extinguished and (re)created in the ambit of the space organization of the Wonderful City. In this circle, incorporating accords, dissonances, vibrations and mockeries, around 1870 the Ouvidor Street inaugurates in way to its geographic choreography of motion of carnavalesca centrality of collective space of urbe Carioca, attracting Zé Pereira, the Shrovetide, the Great Societies and as many as others proper manifestations of this period. Later, the Urban Reform - promoted by Mayor Pereira Passos, President Rodrigues Alves and the sanitarian Oswaldo Cruz - contributed for the creation of another place for the spree, with the opening of the sophisticated Central Avenue, allowing the parade of the privileged in the "Corso". At the same time, between languishing looks, lures, "batuques" and cadence of "Ranchos", Praça Onze of "bambas do samba" lived the plenitude as central place of the "momescas" tricks among blacks and all luck of simple people. This place and its immediacy, sources and ditches of the most genuine Carioca culture and "cradle of the samba", had suffered with the action of the public power in "sweepings", whose result promoted the opening of the Presidente Vargas Avenue, after that also stage, overcoat, for the Escolas de Samba. These points of action, work, make way and amusement had been appropriated by buffoons, while other created and elected by individuals and socials groups as places of carioca carnival. In the "balancê" and in the "ginga" of the carnival, but marked for the understanding of its multiplicity, this dissertation looks for elements of phenomenology for comprehension of life - world of carnival and, supporting itself in hermeneutics, searches to translate the soul of the carioca commonwealth in what it refers to "momesca" spree of past times whose palpitate get confused with the life - world and perpetuated in the Central Area of Rio de Janeiro.
