Resumo: This research maps the first season of the series The Hands Made Tale – O Conto da Aia. This is a dystopian series based on the book by Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, which portrays a Republic called Gilead, which consolidates itself as a theocratic and authoritarian regime. In this context, fertile women have the role of procreation, called Aias, wear a red dress and wear white brims on their heads, in order to have their vision limited. Gilead is structured in castes and, in addition to the Maids, there are Commanders, Wives, Eyes, Martas. The objective of this study, therefore, is to make people see and talk about the women who permeate social and educational spaces, having the series as an aesthetic point, forging a conversation between concepts and intercessors. With what forces us to think – intercessors – the writing of the dissertation, carried out in women, takes place through the ten episodes of the first season, being crossed by current events, seeking, at the same time, an ethical, aesthetic and political position. There are concepts and authors that work in favor of this cartography: device, panoptism, disciplinary processes that cross society, gender, discourse, subjection and women's bodies, among others. Interdictions, discursive practices that reinforce the subjection of women, are analyzed. To do so, there are other intercessors such as the characters in the series, such as Guacira Lopes Louro, Silvia Federici, Judith Butler, Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. Given this, the bet is to discuss the issue of women and their heated networks, the training processes and the uniqueness that led us to this research.

Submitted by Andréia CEH/D (deiacehd@gmail.com) on 2023-06-28T18:11:34Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação Priscila Lima Fonseca - 2021 - Completa.pdf: 483625 bytes, checksum: 1e5ebfb7f72701a845695da3c792db78 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2023-06-28T18:11:34Z (GMT).
