Fiando histórias, tecendo vidas: a literatura infantil na formação de leitores

This research aims to investigate children's literature as a formative agent of critical readers, during the process of school alphabetization, providing suggestions for schoolworks to be used in classroom. This path goes through the importance of fantasy and marvelous in reader’s formation, having as fictional corpus, from the tradition, the Grimm brothers' tales, as well as the Brazilian children's literature, with the so-called “boom” of the 1970's and the verism, including the contributions of some writers considered the greatest explorers of this literature in the country: Monteiro Lobato, Ana Maria Machado, Ruth Rocha, Lygia Bojunga. The research also includes the most contemporary narratives and their contribution to the formation of the Brazilian reader: the schoolworks suggestions, oriented by the light of the methodologies of renowned researchers, focus on the analysis and reading of books by the authors Mary and Eliardo França, and Leo Cunha. Starting from the bibliographical research, this work dialogues with theories of different fields of knowledge and is based mainly on the studies of Brazilian literature, children's literature and literature theory, based on the comparative methodology. Basing the research on literacy and reader training, there are the works by Magda Soares, Regina Zilberman, Rildo Cosson, Maria Teresa Tedesco, Teresa Colomer, Roxane Rojo, Cyntia Girotto, Renata Junqueira and Michèle Petit. Regarding the marvelous and fairy tales are the studies by Robert Darnton, Nelly Novaes Coelho, Karin Volobuef and Regina Michelli. In the investigation of the wonderful as a genre, the support is made in Tzvetan Todorov. Regarding the issues related to fear in literature, there are the works ofBruno Bettelheim and Gilberto Freire. About the specific works of Brazilian Children's Literature, were used the studies of Eliana Yunes, Laura Sandroni, Marisa Lajolo, Nelly Novaes Coelho and Regina Zilberman
