Resumo: The doctoral thesis aims to study the potentiation of the empathic ability in nursing relational care. The assumption of the thesis is: nursing professionals who care for people with suicidal behavior have empathic ability potentialized after participating in a program to promote this ability. The general goal was: to implement a course occurred before the survey about the program to promote empathy, aiming to strengthen it in nursing professionals who care for people with suicidal behavior. Specific objectives: Analyze the imaginative dimension of nursing professionals who care for people with suicidal behavior on the poetics (creation) of the empathic behavior learned in the program developed in a sociopoetic workshop. Describe how nursing professionals who care for people with suicidal behavior experience empathy; To discuss how the Researcher Group (GP) re-means sensitive listening and empathic understanding, before and after participating in the program on the Program for the Promotion of Empathy (PPE) and sociopoetic experiences; Discuss how the Researcher Group (GP) re-means the empathic verbalization, before and after participating in the program on the Program for the Promotion of Empathy (PPE) and sociopoetic experiences. From June to September 2017, after the approval of the Research Ethics Committee (CEP), No. 2,087,510, the research was developed at a public University of Rio de Janeiro applying the sociopoetic method, qualitative and descriptive, through the techniques of experience of geomythical places and dynamics of the body as minimal territory, using the free drawing. The data were analyzed through thematic categorical analysis and described through sociopoetic philosophical and classificatory studies. It was found that the objectives described were achieved by demonstrating that the development of empathy enhanced the help to the other, welcoming, listening, touching, love/compassion, and energy exchange. It has also been demonstrated that empathy produces therapeutic effects such as: relief from suffering, comfort, balance and healing of emotional pain and favors the regulation of the anguish of professionals. GP nurses felt more ethical, empowered and cared for in a humane way and were able to generalize the learning of empathy to other social relationships. The thesis described for this study, was confirmed by checking for the potentiation of empathy in nurses. It was concluded that empathy promotes the reception, strengthens the bond, validates and understands the person who experiences suffering, despair, loneliness and seeks suicide as a solution. Empathy is a possible skill that can help attune the nurse's affective presence to the client, helping him reconnect with himself, his life, and strengthen his will to live.

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2021-01-06T14:26:30Z No. of bitstreams: 1 ALEXANDRE_TESE_FENF_13 DEZ 2018.pdf: 2987395 bytes, checksum: 0d9f8696ebba2a846c22127832ab244d (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-06T14:26:30Z (GMT).
