Resumo: This work has as object of study The work the fifteen, of Rachel de Queiroz And other sources depicting the Great Drought of 1915, that affected the Northeast of Brazil, notably Ceará, the state of the novelist. Our study seeks to show the extent to which History and Literature intertwine. History and literature are areas of knowledge often considered related, their greatest divergence is the method of writing. Drought is one of the natural phenomena that devastates the population, being such a phenomenon strongly linked to the Northeast region, And was stamped on the main works of the 1930s, a writing known as a regional novel. Among the main historians mentioned in the research, I emphasize Durval Muniz de Albuquerque Junior.

O nosso estudo busca mostrar até que ponto História e Literatura se entrelaçam. A História e a literatura são áreas de conhecimentos muitas vezes consideradas afins, sua maior divergência trata-se do método de escrita. A seca é um dos fenômenos naturais que mais devasta a população, sendo tal fenômeno fortemente ligado a região Nordeste, e esteve estampado nas principais obras da década de 30, escrita conhecida como romance regionalista.
