Resumo:  This article presents the relation between a Youth Ambassadors Program (JE) participant"™s discourse, 2010 edition, with the goals of this program through the lights of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) proposed by Halliday (1994). This proposal is justified by the need of clarifying if there are similarities and/or discrepancies between discourses. LSF has as main feature the analysis of a specific discourse through textual configuration elements and their metafunctions. For this study, it was used the field element and Ideational metafunction. This metafunction includes the processes, which Halliday says express real world experiences. Data, for this research, were collected using an extract of a particular blog and through analysis of goals showed in JE Program official web site, as well. Having these data in hands, all processes in the present study were classified according to the LSF  analysis. In the same time, the same analysis on the processes in the description of JE goals was carried on. From these procedures, it was possible to conclude that there are similarities and/or discrepancies present in both discourses.
