Summary: The Philosophy of Education is a prime and unique area and discipline to carry out systematic and well-reasoned reflection and to reflect and analyze formal and non-formal Education and Educational Systems, as long as such reflection involves educational and training contexts. Lifelong Education requires us to know how to think – and meditate – on the rooting dynamics of the verb live and of coexistence. Philosophy is – must be – formative. This is the only way for us to find its meaning in and for people"™s lives, in institutions and for States. For the teaching of Philosophy to question and problematize reality – as it should do, there has to be a Philosophy of Education, which must irrigate, as a sap, all Knowledge in a specific and comprehensive way. In line with UNESCO, we argue that Philosophy should be for everyone. Therefore, there is – there must be – a relationship between the Philosophy of Education and the teaching of Philosophy with great implications for everyone"™s lives and for Institutions.

A Educação ao Longo da Vida exige saber pensar – e meditar - em dinâmicas de enraizamento do verbo viver e da coexistência. A Filosofia é – deve ser – formativa. Só assim encontra o seu sentido na e para a vida das pessoas, nas instituições e para os Estados. O ensino da Filosofia, para ser questionante e problematizador, como deve ser, exige uma Filosofia da Educação, que deve irrigar, como seiva, todos os Saberes, de modo especí­fico e transversal. Defendemos, na linha da UNESCO, que a Filosofia deve ser para todos.
