O (Novo) Ensino Médio na visão dos alunos: rastros da racionalidade neoliberal

Resumo: The article examines the relationship between contemporary education and neoliberal rationality. In particular, it analyzes students' statements about school and high school, in view of the implementation of the New High School Program (PNEM). The theoretical framework comes from concepts discussed by Michel Foucault, Masschelein and Simons and Dardot and Laval. The empirical part took place in a state public education institution in a city in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre – RS, in 2018. The screened material consists of questionnaires answered by students who attended high school. The analytical strategy used to operate on the material was guided by discourse analysis, as understood by Foucault. The examination showed that neoliberal rationality has led school conduct today. Among the traces captured, the following stand out: employability as the focus of high school; competitiveness and performativity thought as prerogatives to achieve the best results and the need for urgent reform, both institutional and individual. Thus, it is concluded that the contemporary game marked by neoliberal logics produces school life forms supported by the principles of competition, improvement and self-promotion, making students become entrepreneurs responsible for their success or failure.

El artículo examina la relación entre la educación contemporánea y la racionalidad neoliberal. En particular, analiza las enunciaciones de los estudiantes sobre la escuela y sobre la enseñanza media, en vista de la implementación del Programa Nuevo Bachillerato (PNEM). El marco teórico proviene de conceptos discutidos por Michel Foucault, Masschelein y Simons y Dardot y Laval. La parte empírica tuvo lugar en una institución estatal de educación pública en una ciudad de la región metropolitana de Porto Alegre - RS, en 2018. El material analizado consta de cuestionarios respondidos por estudiantes que asistieron a la escuela secundaria. La estrategia analítica utilizada para operar sobre el material estuvo guiada por el análisis del discurso, tal como lo entendió Foucault. El examen mostró que la racionalidad neoliberal ha llevado a comportamientos escolares en la actualidad. Entre las pistas captadas, destacan las siguientes: empleabilidad colocada como foco de Bachillerato; la competitividad y la performatividad pensadas como prerrogativas para lograr los mejores resultados y la urgente necesidad de reformas, tanto institucionales como individuales. Así, se concluye que el juego contemporáneo marcado por lógicas neoliberales produce formas de vida escolar sustentadas en los principios de competencia, superación y autopromoción, haciendo que los estudiantes se conviertan en empresarios responsables de su éxito o fracaso. O artigo examina relações entre a educação contemporânea e a racionalidade neoliberal. Em especial, analisa enunciações de discentes sobre a escola e sobre o Ensino Médio, tendo em vista a implementação do Programa Novo Ensino Médio (PNEM). O referencial teórico advém de conceitos discutidos por Michel Foucault, Masschelein e Simons e Dardot e Laval. A parte empírica realizou-se em uma instituição de ensino pública estadual de uma cidade da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre – RS, em 2018. O material escrutinado é constituído por questionários respondidos por estudantes que frequentavam o Ensino Médio. A estratégia analítica utilizada para operar sobre o material orientou-se pela análise do discurso, como compreendido por Foucault. O exame mostrou que a racionalidade neoliberal tem conduzido as condutas escolares na atualidade. Dentre os rastros captados, destaca-se: a empregabilidade posta como foco do Ensino Médio; a competitividade e a performatividade pensadas como prerrogativas à conquista dos melhores resultados e a necessidade de reforma premente, tanto institucional quanto individual.
