Resumo: The present study asks about a specific interface: “How do wine and railway connect to contribute to the local and regional development of tourism in Brazil?”. Therefore, the general objective is to analyze the relationship between wine and railway from the perspective of local and regional tourism development, considering the Wine Train “Maria Fumaça” in the Região Uva e Vinho. The study is exploratory and descriptive, with bibliographic research and analysis of secondary data obtained through comments (n=1.669) available on TripAdvisor about Maria Fumaça for seven years. Besides the geographic location of the study area using the QGis software, it was possible to elaborate textual analysis (Similitude Analysis and Word Cloud) using the Iramuteq software. The results contribute to the perspective of local and regional development involving connections between wine, railway and tourism, and to the epistemological advance on what can be understood as railway wine tourism.

Portanto, o objetivo geral é analisar a relação entre vinho e ferrovia na perspectiva do desenvolvimento local e regional do turismo, considerando o Trem do Vinho “Maria Fumaça” na Região Uva e Vinho. O estudo é exploratório e descritivo, com levantamento bibliográfico e análise de dados secundários obtidos através de comentários (n=1.669) disponíveis no TripAdvisor sobre a Maria Fumaça referentes ao período de sete anos. Além da localização geográfica da área do estudo através do software QGis, foi possível elaborar análises textuais (Análise de Similitude e Nuvem de Palavras) utilizando-se do software Iramuteq.
