For many years training in any area of health has thought of major changes. In recent years, it has been seen the need to train encouraging the insertion of these professionals in the Unified Health System (UHS). However, it should be appreciated that this training is attentive to the realities and current social demands, with the goal of health work, the development of actions to prevent diseases, promotion and recovery of health. The nutritionist is one of those professionals. He is qualified to work in the areas of knowledge, where food and nutrition is the key element for the promotion, maintenance and recovery of health, as well as the prevention of diseases in all socioeconomic levels of Brazilian society. For this to happen, their training must be closely related to their work in the UHS, and the training should direct the profile of the graduates of the Federal University of Alagoas nutrition course for their professional performance.
