The emergence of the computer in the mid-twentieth century transformed the world we live in in a way no other invention had ever achieved. From them we can have information and communicate with people from all over the world in a matter of seconds, and allow user interaction through numerous multimedia resources such as videos, images, audios, animations and hyperlinks that lead the user to navigate. by the computer through virtual pages that have the most diverse purposes, functionalities and information, because of this ease of access to the information and its varied functionalities ranging from the elaboration of texts, communication, entertainment, commerce, among others, the computer It has become the most important and most used electronic device in the world, people, companies and institutions, but there is an institution that in the 21st century makes little of this revolutionary tool that is the school. The school still continues to use traditional teaching methods that is unattractive to students today and do not arouse in them a desire to learn, being one of the causes of poor student performance and poor education in Brazil, given that computers and its tools become an important way to make lessons more interesting, and geography because of its proximity to technology tools with GPS, GIS, e-atlas, and other geotechnologies make it an important gateway. for using computers and other technologies in the classroom. Therefore, this paper aims to show the importance of these technologies in the classroom through a geography class with 6th grade elementary school students about weather and climate, using the Maceió electronic atlas as a didactic resource so that students can have access to a variety of multimedia resources that will allow students to interact with their study tool, as well as enable different ways to view and analyze the subjects present in the electronic atlas of the city of Maceió, and thus make the classes more interesting for students, improving their learning.
