A valorização da cultura popular e da oralidade na EJAI: experiências formativas do PIBID contribuindo para a construção dos modos de ensinar

The present work is based on the experience in two projects, linked to the Institutional Program of Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID), of the Distance Pedagogy course of the Federal University of Alagoas. The objective was to contribute to the reflection on the relationship between the student’s cultural references and the pedagogical practice in the classroom, starting from two projects developed with two classes of the 1st phase of the 1st segment of Young Adults and Aged Education (EJAI), in a school of the municipal education network of Maceió, Alagoas; involving, in one class, the use of the newspaper, and in another, the cordel. The adopted methodology was based on the qualitative research with case study approach. The experience lived during the projects highlighted the importance of a reflective teaching practice that respects the characteristic heterogeneity of the EJAI classes, seeking the systematization of the contents; with the use of a didactic sequence that enhances student’s learning through the appreciation of their orality and their cultural background as a basis for the development of reading and writing. The results show that the use of a didactic sequence favoring orality can contribute significantly to the development of reading and writing skills of the EJAI and that the experience in PIBID brings consistent foundations for Pedagogy education, as it enables the reflective exercise of teaching action and in-depth dialogue between theory and professional practice. In addition, it was possible to see the importance of PIBID in the initial formation of Pedagogues, especially in the context of EJAI.
