The object of study of this research is school violence. Our objective was to investigate what types of violence have been identified in the school environment through scientific research, as well as what alternatives to overcome this problem, presented by the researchers. We carried out a study with a qualitative approach based on the methodology known as State of the Art, State of Knowledge or Review of Literature, associated with bibliographical research in which we deepen the theoretical knowledge of Pierre Bourdieu's ideas on symbolic violence. We analyzed fifty surveys (7 theses and 43 dissertations) and identified the absence of a theory that investigates more deeply the causes of school violence. By not seeking the root of the problem some schools end up destined to fail. Opening the space reserved for dialogue was the solution most pointed in the research. In this sense, we highlight the importance of Pierre Bourdieu's theory that analyzes the social field from a symbolic domination and violence logic that permeates all social relations, anchored in the inequality of possession of cultural, economic and social capital.
