Recycling is a reuse process of material that is discarded by society, it is the method in which waste products are reused or transformed into new products. And this practice in minimizing the environmental impact with the reuse of what is discarded by society, but little is done in terms of recycling despite being increasingly recurrent in the media refers to this sustainable practice. Schools can create recycling bins in classrooms, offices, halls, and cafeteria to collect waste. The intervention project arose from the need to sensitize students about the generation and reuse of garbage in which the qualitative-quantitative character and action research, which was carried out at the Maria Almeida do Nascimento State School, Coari- AM, with students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) of the 1st year “1” of the night shift. The intervention was satisfactorily carried out, involving the students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA), to raise awareness of care with the environment and recycling, focusing on conscious consumption and the reuse of materials destined for waste, showing to learners that reuse is also possible within the school environment. The application of the intervention showed the students the importance of the reuse of waste, contrary to what is thought about this type of material, as being unused because they have a great potential for reuse, thus conserving non-renewable natural resources.
