In the Brazilian scenario, the Innovation Law, promulgated in 2004 and reiterated by the Legal Innovation Framework in 2016, established that the Science and Technology Institutions (ICTs) had Technological Innovation Centers (NITs) to manage their respective innovation policies. In the state of Amapá, there are currently only two recently created NITs facing difficulties in fulfilling their institutional role. Therefore the need to carry out public policies aimed at strengthening the NITs in the state. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to present a public policy proposal that will boost the strengthening of the professionalization of Amapá NITs. Data were extracted from a semi-structured interview and from the websites of the NITs. As a result, the best performance of NITs is expected, with greater agility and security in the protection of intellectual property and better analysis and evaluation by NITs of inventions developed in the State.
