The text aims to address the offer of professional education by the third sector based on results of research carried out with two non-governmental organizations (NGOs) located in outskirts of the city of Salvador, capital of Bahia. The proposed reflection considers that, in parallel existence of a federal network structured around this educational modality that even counts with recognition and prestige it is possible to identify the existence of another ‘network’ that directs its provision of job training to a young population characterized by a situation of vulnerability. If, on the one hand, the profile of the young people served distinguishes these two networks, on the other hand the offer of training for work is a point of convergence between them, despite all their specificities.These specificities, however, do not prevent these two universes from confronting the issue training and pedagogical practice of its teachers and instructors when it comes to dealing with interfaces between education and work in learning situations involving youth. For addressing these aspects, narrative interviews were conducted with those responsible for the courses offered by the surveyed NGOs. |
