Resumo: | An important transformation arising from changes in the age pyramid refers to labor relations. Work-related aging is a process that can both influence and be influenced by the relationship established in life in society between the subject and his work. This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of aging and the working life of individuals, understanding this relationship as a heterogeneous, peculiar and adaptive process, influenced by the experiences, social contexts, lifestyles and particularities of each individual. This is an integrative review of the scientific literature, which used the data collection databases: PubMed and Virtual Health Library. Inclusion criteria were: original articles, publication period from 2015 to 2019, English, Portuguese and Spanish languages. The final sample of this review consisted of five scientific articles, two of which were conducted in Brazil, one in Spain, one in the Netherlands, and one in the United States. Evidence has shown that with advancing age working capacity may be influenced by the functional loss to which every living being is subjected. Positive aspects of aging that favor the performance of activities were also evidenced, such as obtaining knowledge and maturity coupled with the establishment of bonds. |

El envejecimiento relacionado con el trabajo es un proceso que puede influir y ser influenciado por la relación establecida en la vida en la sociedad entre el sujeto y su trabajo. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el fenómeno del envejecimiento y la vida laboral de las personas, entendiendo esta relación como un proceso heterogéneo, peculiar y adaptativo, influenciado por las experiencias, los contextos sociales, los estilos de vida y las particularidades de cada individuo. Esta es una revisión integradora de la literatura científica, en la que se utilizaron las bases de datos: PubMed y Virtual Health Library para la recopilación de datos. Los criterios de inclusión aplicados fueron: artículos originales, período de publicación entre 2015 y 2019 , Inglés, portugués y español. La muestra final de esta revisión consistió en cinco artículos científicos, dos de los cuales se llevaron a cabo en Brasil, uno en España, uno en los Países Bajos y uno en los Estados Unidos de América. La evidencia ha demostrado que, a medida que avanza la edad, la capacidad funcional puede verse influenciada por la pérdida funcional a la que están sujetos todos los seres vivos. También se evidenciaron aspectos positivos del envejecimiento que favorecen el desempeño de las actividades, como la obtención de conocimiento y madurez combinados con el establecimiento de vínculos.Uma importante transformação advinda das mudanças na pirâmide etária se refere às relações de trabalho. O envelhecimento relacionado ao trabalho é um processo que pode tanto influenciar, como ser influenciado pela relação estabelecida na vida em sociedade entre o sujeito e seu trabalho. O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar o fenômeno do envelhecimento e a vida laboral dos indivíduos, entendendo essa relação como um processo heterogêneo, peculiar e adaptativo, influenciado pelas vivências, os contextos sociais, os estilos de vida e as particularidades de cada indivíduo. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura científica, em que foram utilizadas para a coleta dos dados as bases de dados: PubMed e Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde. Os critérios de inclusão aplicados foram: artigos originais, período de publicação compreendido entre 2015 e 2019, idiomas inglês, português e espanhol. A amostra final desta revisão foi constituída por cinco artigos científicos, sendo duas pesquisas realizadas no Brasil, uma na Espanha, uma na Holanda e outra nos Estados Unidos da América. As evidências mostraram que, com o avanço da idade a capacidade laborativa pode ser influenciada pela perda funcional a que está sujeito todo ser vivo.
