Resumo: | This text deals with professional education in arts. It aims to analyze the trajectory of technical teaching in Theater at the Federal University of Pará, its purposes and contradictions, in the scope of professional education. The methodology used was the case study and the approach was considered qualitative. Semi-structured interviews and document analysis were used. The interviews revealed that the School of Theater and Dance and alongside the training of theater professionals, went through four phases: the golden phase of creation, the phase of decay; the renovation phase and; the institutionalization phase. We can conclude that having a theater course (which for decades existed freely and now in an institutionalized way) in professional education, in spite of all the limitations of this teaching method, means for the theater school and for the formation of an artist a question of survival and the guarantee of continuity in the formation and legitimation of art inside the academy, which appears to be conformation, reveals itself as resistance. |

Tiene como objetivo analizar la trayectoria de la docencia técnica en Teatro en la Universidad Federal de Pará, sus propósitos y contradicciones, en el ámbito de la formación profesional. La metodología utilizada fue el estudio de caso y el enfoque se consideró cualitativo. Se utilizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas y análisis de documentos. Las entrevistas revelaron que la Escuela de Teatro y Danza y, paralelamente, la formación de los profesionales del teatro, pasó por cuatro fases: la fase dorada de la creación, la fase de decadencia; la fase de renovación y; la fase de institucionalización. Podemos concluir que contar con un curso de teatro, que durante décadas existió libremente y ahora de manera institucionalizada en la formación profesional, aunque, con todas las limitaciones de esta modalidad docente, significa para la escuela de teatro y para la para la formación de artistas, una cuestión de supervivencia y garantía de continuidad en la formación y legitimación del arte dentro de la academia, que parece conformación, se revela como resistencia.Este texto trata da educação profissional em arte. Objetiva analisar a trajetória do ensino técnico em Teatro da Universidade Federal do Pará, suas finalidades e contradições, no âmbito da educação profissional. A metodologia utilizada foi o estudo de caso e a abordagem foi considerada qualitativa. Utilizou-se entrevistas semiestruturadas e análise de documentos. As entrevistas revelaram que a Escola de Teatro e Dança e concomitantemente a formação dos profissionais de teatro, passou por quatro fases: a fase áurea de criação, a fase de decadência; a fase de renovação e; a fase de institucionalização.
