EMPLOYABILITY OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN BRAZILIAN NORTHEAST: INFLUENCE FACTORS

Resumo: It was examined, in this study, how certain factors influenced the possibility of young people from 15 to 24 to entry into the labor market in the Brazilian Northeast. To this end, we analyzed the marginal effects of a logistic function applied to PNAD's – 2011 micro-data. The study revealed that education, work experience and age positively influenced integration into the labor market. Owning son, being female, non-white or living in urban areas has a negative relationship with the probability of working. These results suggest the path that may be followed by public policies aimed at alleviating unemployment among Brazilian Northeast young people.

Con esto fin, se analizaron los efectos marginales de una función logística aplicada a la PNAD - 2011. El estudio reveló que la educación, la experiencia laboral y la edad influyen positivamente en la integración en el mercado laboral. La posesión de hijo, ser mujer, ser no blanco o vivir en zonas urbanas de los municipios tienen una relación negativa con la probabilidad de trabajar. Estos resultados indican el trayecto en que pueden avanzar las políticas públicas destinadas a reducir el desempleo entre los jóvenes del Noreste Brasileño.Abordou-se, neste estudo, como certos fatores influenciaram a probabilidade do ingresso de jovens de 15 a 24 anos no mercado de trabalho, na região Nordeste do Brasil. Para tanto, analisaram-se os efeitos marginais resultantes de uma função logística aplicada aos microdados da PNAD – 2011. Ficou evidenciado que a escolaridade, a experiência profissional e a idade influenciam positivamente a inserção no mercado de trabalho. Possuir filho, ser do sexo feminino, ser não branco ou morar na área urbana dos municípios possuem relação negativa com a probabilidade de trabalhar.
