Virtual modernity promotes profound changes in the configurations of social relations related to transparency and access to information. The information systems and their tools are currently built aiming at more interaction and information sharing, so that they have been continuously influencing the forms of communication between society and its public agents. Therefore, the general objective of this research is to analyze the use of the Access to Information Module of the integrated Platform of Ombudsman and Access to Information, in the context of the Federal Institute of Paraiba, considering the passive transparency of public information. To this end, a descriptive research with a qualitative and quantitative approach was carried out. The data was collected by means of indirect observation and interview technique, from two strands of investigative analysis: the real user who seeks the system to obtain access to information and the servers who are responsible for providing the requested information. The main results showed the barriers, obstacles related to institutional poor communication, documentary management, technological resources and organizational culture. It was observed the implementation of Law of Access to Information collaborated to improve in different aspects in the administrative routine of the institution.
