Resumo: This paper aims to analyze the Performance of Management Accounts of the municipalities of the State of Ceará, focusing on the study, by sampling, of the accounts processes of two of the most important management units of fourteen municipalities of Ceará with the largest population contingent of each of the State Planning Regions. The purpose of this review is to demonstrate the importance of external control exercised by the Audit Courts, as well as to elucidate the main characteristics of the failures investigated in the services analyzed and the repercussions that these represent in the scope of the Public Administration, besides the dimensions and consequences related to their judgment.
