This research brings the importance of children's literature, through storytelling for the child's socio emotional development, showing how much this playful activity can help children in emotional processes, making them understand and deal with their emotions, rules , resolve conflicts, exercise respect for others and accept differences, communicate better, including developing self confidence. This study also shows the role of male and female teachers in this process, as they will be a ble to work on children values, understanding of the world around them, creativity, critical sense and reflection, with the intention of forming more humane people, which will bring changes not only in school or family, but mainly in the social environment in which they live. It is extremely important that the child recognizes his emotions, understand that his feelings are normal, including negative feelings, such as anger, fear, and how much it is necessary to learn to control them. Often because they are unable to speak naturally or easily about what they are feeling, children end up expressing themselves better through playfulness and it is in this context of understanding these feelings that children's literature enters, storytelling helping in this proc ess that will gradually be built with the child. The work will also address an ASEC program "Friends of Zippy" that work with children's emotions in the classroom, showing that from storytelling children start to talk more about their feelings and emotions . It is concluded, therefore, how much children's literature and storytelling can develop positive work in the classroom in relation to socio emotional skills, where children know each other better and consequently come to understand and respect each other more.
