This article discusses the Young Entrepreneurs First Steps (JEEP) program offered and funded by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE) to public schools through a partnership between the public and private sectors. In order to understand SEBRAE's intentions in the formation of teachers who work from 1st to 5th grade in the municipal basic education network, we seek to understand in a historical perspective the political, economic and social context in which this program was materialized. We try to understand the interest of the private sphere for public education and what represents the JEEP in the current conjuncture of crisis and structural unemployment. We used as theoretical foundation the Historical Dialectical Materialism and documentary analysis of the formation material teachers Young Entrepreneurs First Steps: Methodological Rationale and Participant Manual. The JEEP program aims at the conversion of the teaching function and evidences the political and ideological control character of the teacher. In essence, it represents a way for capital to establish a new socio-metabolic control of labor in the context of the structural crisis.
